RIGHT FORM OF VERB

Rule – 1:
Always, Normally, Gradually, Now and then, Daily, Often, Sometimes, Occasionally, Usually, Ordinarily, Generally, Regularly, Every + time (Everyday) BZ¨vw` _vK‡j evK¨wU mvaviYZ Present Indefinite Tense nq| Z‡e, Past habit (AwZZ Af¨vm eySv‡j) evK¨wU Past Indefinite n‡e| For example:
Ø    My father (read) The Daily Star usually. (Reads)
Ø    I (not take) exercise regularly. (Do not take)

Rule – 2:
Universal truth (wPiš—b mZ¨) Ges habitual fact (Af¨vmMZ) eySv‡j evK¨wU present indefinite tense nq| For example:
Ø    The sun (set) in the West. (Sets)
Ø    Education (remove) darkness. (Removes)

Rule – 3:
Ago, Yesterday, Long ago, In those days, Long since, Before, In the past, Then, Last/Past+time(Last night) BZ¨vw` AwZZMZ kã _vK‡j evK¨wU mvaviYZ past indefinite tense n‡e| For example:
Ø    Eva (leave) the room ten minutes ago. ( left)
Ø    Shafiq (visit) the zoo last week. (visited)

Rule – 4:
Tomorrow, Day after tomorrow, Next/coming + time, ev‡K¨ BZ¨vw` _vK‡j future indefinite tense. For example:
Ø    They (go) to the village tomorrow. (Will go)
Ø    Next year I (appear) in the S.S.C exam. (Will appear)

Rule – 5:
Recently, Just, Just now, Yet, Already, At all, Ever, ev‡K¨ BZ¨vw` _vK‡j mvaviYZ present perfect tense n‡e| For example:
Ø    They already (pass) the S.S.C examination. (have passed)
Ø    We just (reach) the college. (have just reached)

Rule – 6:
By this time/by + time (by morning, by Sun day etc.) BZ¨vw` _vK‡j evK¨wU mvaviYZ future perfect tense nq| For example:
Ø    They (reach) by afternoon. (will have reached).
Ø    I (finish) the work by June, 2010. (will have finished)

Rule – 7:
eZ©gvb Kv‡j †Kvb KvR Pj‡Q Gi“c eySv‡j evK¨wU mvaviYZ present continuous tense nh| G‡¶‡Î, ev‡K¨ now, at present, at this moment BZ¨vw` _vK‡Z cv‡i| For example:
Ø    They (play) cricket now. (Are playing)
Ø    I (read) the book at this moment. (am reading )

Rule – 8:
Past continuous tense G mvaviYZ then, at that time BZ¨vw` _vK‡Z cv‡i|
For example:
Ø    Then I (write) a letter. (was writing)
Ø    At that time I (sleep) in my room. (Was sleeping)
Rule – 9:
While Gi c‡iB verb _vK‡j  verb wUi ms‡M  ing hy³ nq| wKš‘,  while + subject  Gi c‡i   verb _vK‡j past continuous tense n‡e| For example:
Ø    While (go) to college, I saw a dead cow. (going)
Ø    While he (walk) along the road, a snake bit him. (was walking)
Ø    Don’t gossip while (read). (reading)

Rule – 10:
mvaviYZ preposition Gi c‡i verb Gi gerund A_©vr (v+ing) form e‡m|
For example:
Ø    Without studying hard, you can not pass.
Ø    I never think of going there.
Ø    On returning home, he had his meal.

But, ‘to’ Gi c‡i  verb Gi base form e‡m| For example
We would like to arrange a tea party.

Ø    The man was addicted to smoking.

Modal verb ( can, could, may, might, shall, should, will, would, used to, need to, dare to, must etc.) BZ¨vw`i c‡i verb Gi base form e‡m| For example:
Ø    Students should respect their teachers.
Ø    We can not disobey our elders.
Ø    I dare to stand against my boss.

Rule – 12:
Modal + have Gi c‡i  verb Gi  past participle form nq| For example
Ø    You should have studied more.
Ø    We must have known the address.

Rule – 13:
Modal + be Gi c‡i mvaviYZ verb Gi past participle form e‡m|
For example:
Ø    This problem can be solved easily.
Ø    Fertilizer should be used very carefully.
Ø    A+ grade might easily be achieved by Sumaya.
