Degree of Adjective বা Adverb
বিভিন্ন ব্যক্তি, প্রণী বা বস্থুর মধ্যে তুলনা বুঝাতে Adjective ও Adverb এর যে ভিন্ন ভিন্ন রূপ হয়, তাকে Degree of Adjectives বা Adverbs বলে । একে Comparison of Adjectives and Adverb ও বলে।
এ তুলনা বুঝাতে Adjectives and Adverb তিনটি রূপ আছে
1. Positive 2.Comparative 3. Superlative
Positive Degree: তুলনা না বুঝুয়ে কোনো Adjective/Adverb সাধারণভাবে গুণ প্রকাশ করলে এর positive degree হয়। যেমন
Anika is an intelligent girl.
Bangladesh is small country .
Comparative Degree: যখন কোনো Adjective / Adverb দুইয়ের মধ্যে গুণের তুলনা হয় তখন তা Superlative Degree হয়।
Bangladesh is bigger than Bhatun
Salma is more brilliant than any other student.
Superlative Degree: যখন কোনো Adjective / Adverb দুইয়ের অধিক অর্থাৎ বহুর গুণের সাথে তুলনা বুঝায় তখন তা Superlative degree হয়। যেমন-
Dhaka is the biggest city in Bangladesh.
Padma is one of the biggest rivers in Bangladesh.
Positive Degree: তুলনা না বুঝুয়ে কোনো Adjective/Adverb সাধারণভাবে গুণ প্রকাশ করলে এর positive degree হয়। যেমন
Anika is an intelligent girl.
Bangladesh is small country .
Comparative Degree: যখন কোনো Adjective / Adverb দুইয়ের মধ্যে গুণের তুলনা হয় তখন তা Superlative Degree হয়।
Bangladesh is bigger than Bhatun

Superlative Degree: যখন কোনো Adjective / Adverb দুইয়ের অধিক অর্থাৎ বহুর গুণের সাথে তুলনা বুঝায় তখন তা Superlative degree হয়। যেমন-

Padma is one of the biggest rivers in Bangladesh.
Superlative to Positive
Rule 1 সাধারণ বা The যুক্ত Superlative Degree কে Positive Degree তে রূপান্তর করার নিয়ম ঃ
- প্রথমে No other বসে+
- প্রদত্ত Superlative Form এর পরের অংশ বসে+
- Verb এর singular form বসে +
- as বসে+
- Superlative degree এর positive form বসে+
- as বসে+
- প্রদত্ত Sentence এর Subject বসে ।
Examples :
Super : Salma is the best girl in our school.
Positive : No other Girl in our school is as good as Salma.
Super : Palma is the most brilliant girl in our collage
Positive : No other Girl in our school is as brilliant as Palma.
Note: Superlative Degree-এর পরে of all/ of any থাকলে উঠে যায়।
Super : Saidul is the best of all boy.
Positive : No other boy is as good as Saidul.
Rule 2: One of the যুক্ত Superlative Degree কে Positive Degree তে রূপান্তর করার নিয়ম ঃ
- প্রথমে Very few বসে+
- প্রদত্ত Superlative Form এর পরের অংশ বসে+
- Verb এর plural form বসে +
- as বসে+
- Superlative degree এর positive form বসে+
- as বসে+
